DR SCOTT LACKENBY BVSc, MACVSc (Small Animal Medicine), AQIS-accred
After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1992, Scott ventured into mixed animal practice (domestic and production animals) in Dubbo, central NSW. During his three years working in Dubbo, Scott was involved in extensive sheep and cattle artifical breeding programmes.
Scott then travelled overseas to the United Kingdom to practice as a locum veterinarian based in south west London. Whilst becoming more proficient in small animal practice, this also served to fund trips around Europe, Africa, USA and South America.
Upon his return to Australia, Scott joined the team at Gordon Vets in 1999, where he was immediately impressed with the high standard of customer service. He accepted an offer of partnership within the practice in 2002.
In 2002, Scott gained membership into the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in the chapter of Small Animal Medicine.
Scott married the lovely Sam (another vet) and is now the proud father of four beautiful girls – Phoebe, Charlie, Zara and Alex, all of whom love having visits to see the animals at Gordon Vets.
Scott is very popular amongst clients for his kind-hearted approach to pet care and his great sense of humour. He is committed to providing his clients with a high level of care and compassion. He absolutely loves animals and is often heard communicating to his patients in a unique manner by composing a little song!
Scott really enjoys getting to know the pets he treats and through his gentle handling techniques has an amazing ability to keep them calm and happy during procedures.
Scott has a particular interest in the areas of endocrinology (especially diabetes) as well as dermatology (skin disease).
Apart from being popular with clients, Scott is well liked by all members of staff as he dedicates time helping staff develop personally & professionally.
Scott is very active outside the workplace. He loves swimming and other water sports, chasing his girls at the beach or park (even around the house), and hanging out with the family (which includes Judo the dog and Hattie the cat).
